We've only been gone a week and already we miss our fish house cottage . It is so relaxing to stay there. It's distinctly " Maine" decor makes for such a charming getaway. We love the views...the tidal inlet filling with water out back and the waves breaking in the distance out front. We find we time our days to the tides so we can be there to experience the water coming in under the cottage. We love to hike out to the island at low tide or take the rowboat out when it's high. To have tea or wine on the front deck or floating dock is just the perfect end to a vacation day. We look forward to being there again next year. Thanks for making our stay such a nice one. My husband and I stayed in one of Tidal Cottages' fish houses for two weeks as a part of our honeymoon, and what an amazing treat!  I had no idea what to expect because I did not know what a fish house was, but I was so pleasantly surprised.  The accommodations are cozy and comfortable, but the real treat is the beautiful location!  The houses are actually on stilts in the marsh- we got to watch the tide go out and come in so that it would completely surround us!  And as if that wasn't enough, there's also a beautiful view of the ocean from the front decks - perfect for lounging!  We even got to kayak from our back porch!  And the location is walking distance to dock square in Kennebunkport.  (We recommend walking the scenic route along the ocean right past Walker Point!)  My husband and I had a lovely, relaxing time staying at the fish house, and we would definitely recommend it for both couples and families.  -Alison from Hoboken, NJ

Our stay at Turbat’s Creek was special. When it became my turn to recommend a location for our annual retreat for four artist friends, there was no contest. Turbat’s Creek was the choice. It was memorable during my first visit twelve years ago and so it remains today. I have looked forward to returning many times since then and especially for sharing it with old friends. Staying In a a fishing cabin on stilts on the edge of a marshy creek with an ocean view is every artists’ dream. Solitude, salty air, the sound of the gulls and morning doves and plenty of space to catch up and watch the sun rise and set. There is a painting everywhere you look!!!

Our accommodations were comfortable, clean and the cabin was well equipped for in home meals. There we no bugs! Amazing! Someone back home commented that we would be greeted with black flies in Maine- no such contest. Nary a signt.

TC is a gem and that is because you have kept it so. We will be back soon!

Vacationing at the Fish House is an adventure. A fabulous adventure, I might add. Unless you’re actually on a boat, where else can you look out every window and see water! You’ll want to move your car to higher ground during astronomical tides when the parking lot fills-up like a bathtub. But when the full moon reflects off the ocean surrounding the Fish House, it’s quite a sight. For me, this is a perfect vacation spot. A wood burning stove keeps the place toasty on chilly mornings, there’s a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and kayaks await the boating enthusiast. Bring your own tv and go online at the Kennebunk Library. On the other hand, really get away from it all and leave the electronics at home. This place spells relaxation with a capital “R.”
